We had the early afternoon free to shop in lovely Sorrento, and tasted the famous Lemonchello liquor that is made right here. The afternoon we took a drive along the famous Amalfi coast with its clear blue waters and picturesque resorts. We stopped of at Positana, magnificently positioned on the Mediterranean coast. I could not resist putting my feet in Mediterranean water for the first time. The beaches are grey and pebbly! After shopping for a couple hours, not buying anything as everything is so expensive, we took a drive to ‘Rosa’s’ for early dinner. This little farm is tucked away amongst lemon groves and olive groves, we had a chance to see how the mozzarella’s was made, as well as making our own pizza’s., Everything is so simple, made me realize I DO put too many ingredient in everything, my pizzas and salads! It was overall a relaxing day just to enjoy the way people live in Italy. And NO...no Italian has pinched my bum yet!
Tomorrow we off to see Pompeii, and then off to Rome!!Wednesday, 25 May 2011
25.05.2011 – Sorrento-Isle of Capri and Amalfi Coast.
We cruised on a ferry to the magical island of Capri in early morning. We ascent by funicular railway. We saw spectacular views, as well as all the exclusive boutiques only for the rich and famous, one place I could really be on a yacht and sail around magnificent cliff tops!
