Today we drving towards Heidelburg, I think that driving through Germany. .....We stopped at the 'Bridge too Far' at Arnhem where the movie was made. This is where the Rine starts. Interesting history and quite emotional to be where so many thousands of soldiers died because of lack of communication and proper planning. Just want to see the movie again after being here.
We crossed the German border on the famous autobahn, cars diving way too, so..... the great 'Autobahn' well.....it just looks like a freeway to me, with 2 lanes.... .The Industrial area of Germany is centered around the Rhine. Called Rhineland Region. germany apparantly has a low level of corruption!
We headed to the Rhine Gorge, the Rhine is the 3rd largest river in the world. We drove through the scenic wine village of Boppard, saw many castles, well they are more Fords, now hotels. We left the bus to continue on, and we boarded a cruise boat whilst we did a 2 hour scenic cruise down the Rhine, where we saw magnificent half-timbered villages and turreted castles perched high on terraced vineyards. We had 2.5 hour delay because of accident on Autobahn
