We set sail at 11am to arrive Santorini 3.30pm. Well, what a sight this was to see the sheer cliffs of Santorini. I did not know Santorini was still a live volcanic island, and that it had this massive explosion 600bc where half the island disappeared, and that our cruise ship was right next to the eye....it was spectacular. We had to catch some transfer boats to shore. Then we got on busses and traveled to the most popular tourist site 'Thira', the place where all the postcards come from. We only had one and half hour, by far not enough time to explore and shop....we had to catch a cable car back to shore, and that too was quite an experience...overall - lovely, but need more time.... SLOW INTERNET IS PLAYING HAVOC WITH PHOTOS, SOME DONT COME OUT, SOME ARE CROPPED...GRRRRRRRR

22/23.05.2011-Crete-Santorini
We arrived 6.30am to get off at 7am especially people doing the excursions. This time I finally met up with my aunties in law, Moya and Sheila. Moya collected me from the port and took me to her villa. It was very touching to hear that Sheila did a special trip from UK to come and meet me too, I was so happy to finally meet these 2 lovely aunts of Steve, as I have heard of them, we have sent Christmas cards, emails etc, but never met for +27yrs. I was delightfully greeted by Jack the jack russel, and met Moyas daughter and almost son in law. It was as if I knew them forever, we were so relaxed, had so much to talk about, Moy set out some lovely morning tea, but we thought bugger it, we going to have rose wine and 9.30am! I really had such a wonderful time and WISHED I could have stayed for much much longer, so much history to catch up on, so many stories to hear. The SADDEST part was Moya and Sheila thought they had me from 7am to 11pm......but it was only 7am-11am!!! so only a couple hours...well we crammed in as much jaw action as we could. I immediately bonded with them, and we will most definitely be ready next year for their visit to Perth Australia! YES YOU ARE! It was sad to say goodbye, and only after meeting for 2-3 hrs we already shed some tears..so thanks Moya, Sheila and Sonja for making me feel so welcome. To top it all, I have a dreadful 'European Cold' and was coughing my lungs out, and Sonja went and bought me cold and flu tabs and cough mixture..thank goodness..
